Sustainable Faith Based Social Action

The Council for Social Responsibility (CSR) is an independent charity based in Portsmouth. It delivers a wide range of social programmes – primarily at parish and diocesan level, serving communities across South East Hampshire, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.

CSR encourages community participation, leadership and meaningful impact by engaging people of all faiths and none. In recent years, it has adopted a more enterprising model, placing greater emphasis on creating social resilience. This evolving approach is producing powerful and inspiring outcomes.

Lydia has been the driving force behind the Wellbeing Club podcast project and put simply, it wouldn't have happened without her. She has worked collaboratively with #BeeWell, building an effective partnership that values our contribution, and is producing successful outcomes that benefit young people.

I have just listened to this again and just wanted to reiterate how incredible Theo, Hazel and Noah were during the podcast recording! I'm so proud to have been the first professional guest, and I hope this helps someone that hears it. Well done Lydia for such a great project!

I loved being able to share freely in a safe environment... It was super fun and a great experience!

Young Person

Out of all the external providers offering alternative provision for the young people, this one is the most valuable currently. You are an asset to the school.

This reliable neighbourly contact is incredibly important to me, having moved in my 70’s to a new area and living alone - the work the group do is a tremendous boost and not to be underestimated!

One elderly gentleman who doesn’t have any close family says that we are his family. He is one of our most prolific users and looks forward to our social gathering, he is our ‘Caller’ at our annual Bingo tea.

This is to let you know we got registered with the Charity Commission last week (no 1207094). This is to thank you Karen for your support and assurance that we still have the benefits of being part of the Good Neighbours Network. In addition to the practical stuff like DBS and insurance, we do appreciate you keeping us in touch with the “scene” through your newsletters.

I would like to thank you Karen for the ongoing support that you have given our group through a very difficult time. The opportunity to talk the safeguarding situation through with you and the documentation that you provided on safeguarding and the constitution have been invaluable.
