Compass Counselling is a new professional, accessible community counselling service based at Portsmouth Central Library, providing affordable counselling for adults aged 18 and over. Our ethos is centered around “Journey Towards Hope”. We recognise that seeking support can be an important first step towards positive change. We provide a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space where people can explore their experiences, develop greater understanding of themselves and work towards improved emotional wellbeing.

The service is delivered by a combination of fully qualified counsellors and supervised trainee counsellors, all of whom are registered members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within the BACP Ethical Framework. We offer a free initial assessment, followed by ongoing counselling appointments priced between £20 and £65 per session, with fees determined according to individual income. This flexible approach enables us to provide professional counselling that is more accessible to people who may otherwise struggle to afford private therapy.

Through Compass Counselling, we are committed to reducing barriers to accessing emotional and psychological support within our local community and helping people take their own journey towards hope.
